The Former Residence of Lee Kuan Yew

As the saying goes, ‘achieving greatness the royal secretary, reaching Southeast Asia the glory.’ The saying well described the fame of this mansion. It is commonly referred to as ‘the Zhonghandi (Namely the Mansion of the Royal Secretary)’ and lies within the Gaopo Town, Dabu County. The architecture style of the mansion is called ‘the Running-downhill Tiger’ due to fact that it is a dwelling house built in the piedmont yet still several feet off the ground. The mansion is the former residence of the first prime minister of Singapore – Lee Kuan Yew, and the current prime minister of Singapore – Lee Hsien Loong. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and Mr. Lee Hsien Loong are of father-and-son relationship, and both of them are prime ministers. The story of their lives is considered as a legend in this very mansion.
